A Big Cavity Under Arms Closes After Prayers

A retired man called Roni Lacerda da Gama, 49, is one of those few people who are alive due to a great miracle. In 2013, he met the Worldwide Church of God`s Power. It was a difficult moment of his life. It was when he was in bed hospitalized under serious condition in a town called Viamão, 8 kilometers away from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, where he lives. His suffering started in 2003 when he found out that he had tuberculosis and he lost half of his left lung after surgery. Ten years later, he underwent a strong infection in the place where he was operated on and had to undergo another surgical procedure, which left him a huge cavity under arms allowing anyone to see the beat of his heart. “The hole was so big that it was possible an adult person`s hand to fit into it” he explains That condition took nine months, and it made Gama desperate. “As this hole never closed, I got hopeless by the doctors. They used to say that it would never close”, said Gama, among tears, to a crowd which was present during a service ministered by the Bishop Thiago Ciani, responsible for the Worldwide Church of God`s Power in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Hospital and home

He says that the doctors tried to get a part of his body tissue to perform a graft, but as he weighed 52 kg, with loss of muscles, it was not possible to be performed. “After the first surgery, I started having many health issues. My life was between hospital and home until a moment when I meet the Worldwide Church of God`s Power, and my suffering was over”, emphasizes happily. Gama says he was upset at all churches in general at that time. One day, when he watched the program at the hospital, he decided to pray together with the Apostle Valdemiro Santiago, the maximum leader at WCGP. After that decision, his life changed completely “Changed completely,” he says. Due to the hole that never closed, he became upset, unmotivated, disappointed. “Depression also took over my life because those doctors couldn`t provide me with a solution,” he remembers emotionally. “My history just started to change after I started praying together with the TV program of the church and my wife started attending the services and purposes of the church as well.” With that hole completely closed, Gama attends the service of the Worldwide Church of God`s Power in Viamão accurately. “I got hopeless by the doctors, but God healed me,” concludes joyfully
