“Without God, no one gets delivered from drugs”

“I used drugs for fifteen years of my life”, says Dogival Soares de Souza, 41. “I started with light drugs and got to a point that I realized I was sinking because I started using heavier and heavier drugs, such as crack. I used to spend days in the streets, lost, like a homeless. I lost my family, my job, my money,.. I lost everything but life”.

According to Dogival, “I wanted to quit using drugs, but I wasn`t able to do so. I could stay the maximum od three days without using them, so the withdrawal pressured me and I used to sell everything I could in order to use them. When they came to the end, I wanted to cry, so I wanted to get rid of that life, to be delivered from this addiction, but I couldn`t. I used to ask myself why I lived that way, but I couldn`t control it. I used to abandon everything and everyone for drugs and later I complained”

It was through his wife that Dogival met Jesus on TV program of the Worldwide Church of God`s Power. “She used to show me the program and I, even being high with drugs, stopped in front of the TV to watch the Apostle Valdemiro Santiago to preach the Word of God. It was following the program that I started to believe in God and I said if there were deliverances to other people, I would receive mine too. I started to attend the church and to meditate those messages and when I noticed, I was into the Word of God” In testimonial, Dogival glorifies the Lord. “For months I have been delivered from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. I`m delivered by the Power of God. I got revulsion from drugs and alcoholic drinks and I`m very thankful for Jesus to provide me with strength to avoid that because without God, no one is delivered form drugs. Now, my life is blessed, my family is unified, with prosperity. I work and glorify the Lord for everything He has done and will do for me.”
