“I used drugs from 16 to 46 years old, 30 years in drugs, after that, I got hopeless by medicine for brain injury for long term drug usage ”, explains Valdemir dos Passos, 47. “Because of my related ones, I was given an allowance proving I was mentally disabled due to the long term use of drugs according to the law in order to hospitalize me in a clinic where I would never leave to get rid of me once and for all under the law”.

According to Valdemiro, one of the reasons why he was sad was his own family “I wanted to get rid of drugs and I could not. I used to go to homes of relatives to beg for food and help, some of them have a restaurant and they denied me a dish of food. They were fond of the idea of getting rid of me. I had no one, was homeless, completely abandoned. Several times I stopped at the hospital almost dead, due to much aggression I underwent in the street.

I tried to kill myself several times; because my own family told me to kill myself because it was better than making the family look bad. I put a rope around my neck, I tried to commit suicide cutting wrist, jumping from a bridge, but today I don't want to die, I want to live, to be a channel of blessing to others. I heard at the clinic where I was hospitalized about the Worldwide Church of God`s Power, I went out and walked up to the Church, to São Paulo. I just had to come in and hear the preaching of the word of God and was released, never knocked on the door of the House to get some food. I am delivered, healed, God gave me wife, job, new life through this work. She is everything in my life ".
